Template Subfolders
Although I have set up subfolders within my "template" folder; when I attempt
to make use of a template saved in one of these subfolders, I do not see any indication of the existence of any of the subfolder tabs when using the file|new|templates on computer. Should I be able to see these subfolders in this situation or am I expecting something that is not feasible? Additionally, any "work around" suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance... Rod |

Template Subfolders
Did you set up these subfolders within the folder specified for user
templates on the File Locations tab of Tools | Options? This will be the folder where Normal.dot is stored, not the folder where Word's other built-in templates are stored. A tab will show up as soon as the folder contains at least one template. -- Suzanne S. Template Subfolders
Hey there Suzanne:
That was what I thought: that the tabs would appear as soon as the subfolders were populated with a *.dot file. I am able to see the tab for the parent folder (Company Name), but nothing for any of the subfolders (Inidividuals) to that particular parent. If you come up with any further suggestions, just whistle. In the meantime - as always, thanks for all of your previous, present and future assistance. Rod "Suzanne S. Template Subfolders
Sounds like you've nested things too deep. You can have only one level of
folders below the top-level folder specified for "User templates" on the File Locations tab of Tools | Options. If you think about it, this makes sense: there is no way for a dialog to have subtabs to the tabs. -- Suzanne S. Template Subfolders
Suzanne.
I can see where the situation makes sense concerning the subtabs. However, sometimes endeavors do not make sense until one gives it a try. The "aha" moment doesn't always kick in until further down the road. As always, thanks so much for your assistance in this and every regard thus far. Rod "Suzanne S.
