Default Word 2003 - different first page header in template

Hi,

I need the first page to have one header; and each page thereafter to ahve a
different header in a template. It is not being recognized as two different
headers within the document.

Any ideas?

V_fas,

If you open your template, and then open the header view, and then click on
the page setup icon on the Header and Footer tool bar (it looks like a book),
do you have "different first page" checked?

In the template, maybe you need to create a blank second page to define the
header/footer, then delete the blank page? If you do, Word will remember the
header even though there is not yet a second page.

You need to enable "Different first page" on the Layout tab of Page Setup.
