Default Locked Documents

I keep getting the notice "Locked for Editing" or "Locked for Read-only". I
did nothing to prompt these interruptions (that I am aware of). How did this
happen and how do I correct/prevent it? Thanks

Assuming that Word is correctly activated (and that you are not using an
expired trial version), you could try renaming the Normal template, with
Word closed. A fresh copy of the file will be created the next time you
start Word. If you need help finding the Normal template, see
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customizat...alTemplate.htm (but if
you are using Word 2007, note that the template is called normal.dotm, not
normal.dot).
