When I go to Office Button Send Email as PDF attachment, I get an error
which says "Logon failed. You must log on to Microsoft Exchange to access your address book. Error code: "Unspecified Error"." When I use the same function in Microsoft Powerpoint, I am able to send it with no errors. Could you please explain how I can rectify this ? |

You need it to be Outlook in order to access the address book from Word.

If that is true, how is it possible that my current default e-mail works with

The issue is not that you cannot e-mail from Word with other applications,
but that you cannot access the Address Book (which is part of Outlook) from Word, hence the error message. FWIW - address book aside - if you use the tool to send as PDF attachment using Windows Live Mail, the PDF file does not appear to be attached to the message in the web dialog. If you have Outlook, you may find http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en useful. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org sharonrego wrote: If that is true, how is it possible that my current default e-mail works with Powerpoint? You can, however, use the Address Book of the mail client you're using

I get the same message trying to email a document in word. When I send as an
attachment it seems my entire word program goes with it and the mail recipient can open my other documents. Is that true?. I am also waiting for a response about this error code and using microsoft exchange. I still do not understand. I have outlook express 6 for my emailing program.
While in word 2007 the icon for email is shaded (not usable) only the attachment. When I go of office button, send, email I get that same error message about microsoft exchange. Can you explain further. Thank you "Graham Mayor" wrote: Do you have Outlook configured as your default e-mail application? -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org sharonrego wrote: When I go to Office Button Send Email as PDF attachment, I get an error which says "Logon failed. What is it that you don't understand?
Microsoft Word requires Outlook as the default e-mail application in order to access the address book. You can use OE6 as an e-mail application from Word, but it will not give you access to the Address Book function. If the e-mail button is unavailable - see The "E-mail" command is missing or is unavailable in Excel 2007, in PowerPoint 2007, or in Word 2007 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918792 -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org pem wrote: I still do not understand. As previously noted, you *can* access the OE address book. And your answer
doesn't address the error message about Microsoft Exchange. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA http://word.mvps.org "Graham Mayor" wrote in message ...
