The toolbar settings for Word are saved in one or more templates (*.dot
files). If you didn't change the default in the Customize dialog, they're
all in Normal.dot. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...latesStore.htm and
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/FilesToBackup.htm.

Unless someone else here has the other part of your answer, you'll have to
ask about Excel in an Excel newsgroup.

Chances are that you do not transfer them, at least not easily, if they are
customizations of the built-in toolbars. See
http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions
on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including
AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc. If
moving to a new computer setup (rather than one that is being used by
someone else) you may end up copying normal.dot. Eventually, though, you'll
want to bite the bullet and put your customizations in a separate global
template.
