original factory settings for Word 2007?
If you need to do this for diagnostic reasons, you can start Word with the
original settings by using the /a switch (start - winword.exe /a), or by starting Word in safe mode (press Ctrl while Word is starting, click Yes to starting in safe mode). If you want to reset Word to the original settings just to wipe the slate clean, you would need to renamed or delete Normal.dotm as well as rename or delete several registry keys. The main ones are the Options and Data keys, which are located he HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\W ord You can look at other settings, such as File MRU and Recent Templates, as well, depending on how "original" you want to be. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "Sam" wrote in message news |
