Customize composite field blocks for mail merge?
Hi,
I would like to add a field to the address block composite field in mail merge (the Job Title field). The address block dialogue window doesn't seem to have a way to add a field, and I don't see a way to create a new, custom composite field. I can certainly create an address block by inserting one field at a time (Title, First Name, Last Name, Company, Job Title, Address etc.) but I would like to have a composite field that will do this with one button. Thanks in advance for your help. Barnet |

If your field names will always be the same then you can create an AutoText
entry for this. (In Word 2007 this would be called a Building Block.) For either version, construct your fields, select them and then press Alt + F3 to access the New AutoText/Building Block dialog box. If you need additional specifics, please let us know the version of Word you are using. Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Thank you Beth,
That makes sense to me. I'll go ahead and try it... if I don't post again you'll know it solved the problem. I appreciate your time and help.
