Default document crashing

I have a large word document with tables, grapsh, equations etc. (2.5 megs).
This document keeps crashing. After the autorecovery, I get a recovered file
and as I save this file, the dialog prompts me to go over the errors fixed
during recovery. This alwyas gives a "Styles" error, but when I try to see
location or description, the dialog says "No bookmark for this error." then I
save my file, and boom, it crashes again in the next minute.
And some days I can work on it no problems.
I updated to SP-3. Any suggestions?
