I just hit save instead of save as by mistake! Is there any way of reverting

If you have checked the "Always make backup copy" option in Tools Options Save, look in the same folder for a file named "Backup of xyz.wbk" where xyz is the name of your document. That will be a copy of the document as it was at the previous save. More at http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/AutomaticSave.htm. If you don't have that, the following applies only if you haven't yet closed the document... Click the Undo button on the toolbar or press Ctrl+Z enough times to remove all the changes you made (or click the down arrow on the Undo button and select the part of the list going back to where you started changing). When it looks like the original document, save it with the original name. Now use Redo to apply your changes, and (carefully!) Save As another name. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |
