I am upgrading users from Office 2000 to Office 2003 Pro. Does the installer migrate Word AutoCorrect entries? Hi Rick, Yes, it does. More exactly, it does nothing to remove or change the existing entries. If there are existing .acl files and/or a normal.dot template from Office 2000, the installer won't overwrite them. (This is part of the reason many problems can't be solved by reinstalling part or all of Office -- the most frequently damaged files aren't reinstalled.) But if you don't completely trust this process (why would I think that? g), you can export the entries to a document from Word 2000, do the upgrade, and then import the entries in Word 2003. A template with the necessary macro is at http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...utocorrect.htm. However, this export/import would have to be done separately on each PC. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |
