Default word hyperlink appears when turning on the hyperlink

Instead of coloring in a web site for hyperlink, I get this {HYPERLINK
"http://www.arpu.com}
If I right click on the statement, hit select hyperlink and then open
hyperlink, I get the desired result. I want to get the desired result without
getting the above verbage.
