Default Coulmns in text boxes

Why in the world doesn't a text box have all options that regular text has,
like; coulmns (yes, I know I can create two parellel text boxes, well, I'm
not looking to waste time) breaks, comments, etc. I think it's about time for
Micosoft to start thinking about me, too. Thanks, and, um ... sorry.

Text boxes are not meant to contain large amounts of text. Word is not page
layout software but word processing software; the words are mostly supposed
to go in the document body.
