Default Merging from excel numbers are changing from 7.05 to 7.05000000000

It is the odest thing, I have entered in the numbers correctly in excel but
they are getting corrupted or something in the process of the mail merge, is
there a solution to this quandry?

Default Merging from excel numbers are changing from 7.05 to 7.05000000000

Nothing odd about it. Without a formatting switch being applied to the
mergefield in Word, the numbers appear in the result of the mail merge in
the format in which they are stored in Excel, which is not necessarily the
way in which the cells in Excel are formatted to display them.
