Default macro icon

I have had a red ! indicating a macro on all of my Word docs for the
past couple of months (I use AVG, so hopefully this is not a virus).
I have never used macros and there are no macros listed under "Macro".
How can I create a new macro free doc template? After I do that, how
do I convert all of those docs with a red ! back to normal?

TIA

This does not mean that the document contains macros (a macro enabled
document would have a black exclamation mark in a yellow tag). It is most
likely associated with third party software e.g. Mozy backup software. My
guess is that you have backup software installed and the red flag indicates
documents that have not been backed up. If you use this and want to remove
the red flag you can disable it in Mozy's settings - CONFIGURE OPTIONS
GENERAL and uncheck the box for "Show Backup Status Icon on files and
folders"
