Default WORD 2007 Cursor will nto appear!

I'm sure the solution is embarrasingly simple, but ever since I had to do a
System Recovery, and lost data and programs and had to reinstall everything,
my WORD 2007 p[resents me with an odd behavior: The cursor will not appear on
a new document or a Quick Template document. I get it all ready in terms of
font, paragraphs, lines, etc. and no matter whether I use New Document or a
Template or Quick Style, the cusor does not appear, and so I cannot write
anything. Would anyone kindly point out to me what I am doing wrong and what
I should do? Thanks.

Did you ACTIVATE the product again after the reinstallation?

Yes, I did. I used the correct code when reinstalling, and also checked
later. The missing cursor problem is intermittent ; if I fiddle long enough I
eventually get it to appear and begin writing, but still, it does not appear
and the program in a new document often goes to 'headers' so I have been
trying to find out why, no luck yet. (Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it.)

There's a slim possibility that it may be a corrupt DataKey, but try testing
with Word in Safe Mode. From Start, Run, type in

winword /a

and press enter. Word starts in Safe Mode. Does the cursor now appear
correctly?

No, it does not show up in Safe Mode either. I can eventually get it to show,
but I'm not sure why it does not automatically. Being new at Word, it is
going to take me a while to teach myself by trial and error how to work it
properly...
