I have a resume in word. I am trying to place this in a template format or
set this resume up in a way so the formatting isn't lost when it is inserted
as a cut and paste rather than an attachment.

Attachment to an email? Inserted in an email? Try printing it to a .pdf file
and attaching. emails will _not_ have the same format as a word document.
