Default Unhyphenating a word

With automatic hyphenation on, how do I remove hyphenation from an individual
word?

I would turn off Automatically hyphenate document and click on manual. This
gives you absolute control over which words you chose to hyphenate and
exactly where the hyphen will appear.

What I decided to do is to mark words I don't want hyphenated as being in
another language. That prevents them from being spell-checked and hyphenated.

You don't have to format them as another language, just as "Do not check
spelling or grammar."
