I have a professor who is anal retentive and wants us to justify only the
left margin. His words are "Since Courier is a mono-spaced font, justify
only the left margin." How do I justify only the left margin? I thought
that justification applied to the entire line--left and right margin. Or is
my professor an idiot?

Your professor is an idiot. Well, maybe that's too harsh; he's just
imprecise in his use of the terminology. Justification means left+right
alignment. He means he wants it "ragged right" or just left-aligned.
