Hi dt,
AutoCorrect: Your autocorrect entries are stored in an username.acl file. The location of this file is stored in the registry (Start | Run... | type regedit | OK) In the registry editor, search (Edit | Find...) the text .acl. Clear the Keys and Values boxes. When you find the location of the file, check whether the file exists in this location. Caution: do not change anything in the registry. AutoText: Which AutoText entries are visible, depends on what is selected in Insert | AutoText AutoText... | Look in:. The preferred setting is "All active templates". Good luck, Cooz -- PS: If this is a satisfying answer to your question and you're logged in via the Microsoft site, please click Yes to "Did this post answer the question?". Thanks. Formatted autocorrect entries and autotext entries are stored in normal.dot.
If they are not being saved, something is inhibiting the saving of normal.dot. This is usually caused by a poorly written add-in and the worst offender is Acrobat 7. auto text fails to retain copied text after word closes down, why?
From the FAQ:
28. I can't save my customizations - AutoText, menus, etc. Can't save normal.dot... If you have Adobe Acrobat 7 installed see the last section of http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adob...at_toolbar.htm. Otherwise, hold down the Shift key when selecting the File menu and select Save All. See also http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/331259.html.
