Default How do I set up vertical headers

I need to set-up a header going down the left side of the page. How do I do
it AND, can I protect it so that when someone types on the page, they do not
access the header?

Default How do I set up vertical headers

Anchor a text box to the header paragraph (just insert the text box
with the insertion point inside the header), and then drag to position
it in the left margin. If you are setting up a letterhead, see
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/Letterhead.htm.

Although this won't "protect" the header, it will prevent people from
adding things to it or deleting it by mistake.
