Hi Hassan,
First, use File Save As to make a backup copy of the first index, in case you want to get it back again for any reason. In the original document, first click the ¶ button so all the XE fields are visible. Then open the Edit Replace dialog. In the Find box, type ^d XE (notice that there's a single space character before the X). Then click the Replace All button. That removes all the marked index entries. Finally, you can click the ¶ button again to turn off the nonprinting marks. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
