Default how do you create a screen tip without having to insert a bookmar.

I am trying to insert screen tips into a Word Document - which I have
accomplished. However, I acomplished this by creating a bookmark then
creating a hyperlink with a screentip. How can I create a screentip without
the messy hyperlink and bookmark?

Thanks

Try Insert/Comment?

I would rather not use comments. The comments are always either on or off
depending on the options selected on the individuals computer. The comments
would look messy all over the page since I need to enter quite a few of them.
With the screentip the message only shows up when the mouse is placed over a
selected area (selected by the author). Unfortunately I don't know how to
created the screen tip without having to create a bookmark then a hyperlink
to the bookmark. The hyperlink becomes a waste because if a user clicks on
it - it will take them to the bookmark designated, which I bookmark the same
exact place the hyperlink is at. I'm pretty sure that I've created the
screentips before without going through the whole bookmark then hyperlink
thing, but I'm not positive.

However, thank you for your reply, any input is greatly appreciated!

Hi ?B?TWVsaXNzYSBGcmVuY2g=?=,

Word has no facility for simply creating screen tips; they must be part of
something else. It is possible to set up Word so that comments only display in
the screentips, and no where else (i.e. not in balloons). Assuming, of course,
that the user doesn't fiddle with these settings (you could use an AutoOpen and
AutoClose macro to make your preferred settings, and then restore the user's).
But that's really going to be your only alternative, at least in current
versions of Word.

Used to be, people used hidden text for this sort of thing...
