Default Slow running document.

Does anyone have any experience of documents running slow once a few radio
button / check boxes have been added?

We have created a two page word document which is basically a checklist for
a set of actions which can be used in one of two situations.

At the top of the document we have placed two radio buttons which indicate
whether we are using it for situation B or situation B.

We have approx six or seven items that need to be checked off as the
document is circulated, so we have added a checkbox to each selection.

Before we added the controls the document worked at the usual speed you
would expect for a two page, text only, word document. However, once we added
the controls it all got very slow, taking a long time to load, and scroll
through. Delete the controls and its all happy again.

This ones got us stumped so if anyone can help then wed love to hear from
you!!

Thanks in advance

Consider using a protected form and fields from the forms toolbar instead of
controls. This is what Word calls an "online form." Check this in help. For
more about online forms, follow the links at
http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm especially Dian
Chapman's series of articles. These include articles on making checkboxes
mutually exclusive (functioning like radio buttons).

Hope this helps,
