Default Normal.dot

I see Normal.dot in in the folder, C:.....MicrosoftTemplates.

1. My understanding is that no template should be visible in this
folder. Is it true? if so, why it is visible. The font's color of
'Normal.dot' is blue.

2. Is there any way to reset Normal.dot to the original form? I seem to
have modified styles by mistake.

thanks for help.

With Word not running, delete (or better rename) the one you see. The
next time Word starts up it will create a pristine copy.
