Default Header/footer auto-text drop down blank

Has anyone seen this? I went to select "filename and path" or any of
the regular items in the auto-text drop down and there's no drop down
anymore. No entries, nothing. I am baffled.

I just re-installed Office 2003 Professional and it's the same song and
dance.

Any input/help would be welcomed.

The usual reason for this is that you have saved a document or template as
Normal.dot. Reinstalling changes nothing because it doesn't overwrite
Normal.dot. But if you rename Normal.dot, Word will create a new one with
all the default AutoText entries.
