Default How do I change the date format in a header

Right now the date comes up as 09/11/2006. I want it to read 9 November
2006. I want the date to change to the current date everytime I open the
document.

You need to add a formatting switch; see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/DateFields.htm

The easiest way to do this, however, is to use Insert | Date and Time,
select the format you want, and check the "Update automatically" box, then
insert.
