Default Change cross reference defaults

Is it possible to change the defaults for cross references in word 2003? I
dont know anyone who writes technical documents who writes references using
the entire caption, the label and number only option is the one I want set as
default.

As far as I know, it's not possible to change the defaults in that dialog
box.
