Default Word 2002 on XP complains about Borders, on Win 98 no complaint.

I am trying to understand why on my WindowsXP laptop and Windows 98
second edition computers that Word perceives a difference when using an
application (FinePrint) to facilitate printing double sided pages. I am
running Word 2002 on both machines.

The difference arises because of a border I have on my cover sheet, which
is Section 1. When I do a File/Print (and select Fineprint as the
printer) the XP machine Word complains that "The page borders of section
1 are set outside the printable area of the page. Do you want to
continue? Y/N" whereas the same application on the Windows 98 machine
does not issue a warning and handles it fine. As far as I can tell
settings of FinePrint on both machines are identical, and the .doc file
is a copy and therefore is identical in both machines.

When I tell the XP Word to continue, the cover sheet appears in the
FinePrint window with the bottom border missing, otherwise all is okay.

Word 2002 options in both computers at File/Page Setup/ Layout Tab/
Borders/Page Border/Options were identical and set as follows: Margin;
top, bottom, left, right set to 24 pt, Measure from: Edge of page. I
have the same physical printer marked as default in both machines, and in
the FinePrint application.

By experimenting I found that by changing the option Measure from: "Edge
of page" to "Text", the borders moved inwards a bit and Word using
Fineprint no longer complained about the borders being outside the
printable area.

By the way, Word on XP never complained when I did not use Fineprint,
that is, when I did a File/Print and selected a physical printer there
was no problem.

If I have identical copies of Word, and identical .doc files and every
thing else identical, why might Word in the XP computer not like the
borders?

If anyone could shed some light on this I'd appreciate it.

TIA

FinePrint has its own settings for margins that may be
causing the conflict. "Adjustable Margins: Margin
adjustment allows for increased text sizes for better
readability, by using more of the printable area on the page."

Thanks Chuck:

I guess I was looking too hard. In the Fineprint combobox for Margins were
different. On the Fineprint layout tab for the windows98 Word machine had
large, the xp machine had "original". I changed Original to large and every
thing worked okay. However, when I changed it back to Original it worked okay
too. Another mystery.
