No, Word 2002 will not run on Windows 98. You need at least Windows 2000.

1. Insert Office XP CD into CD-ROM drive tray.
2. Close CD-ROM drive tray.
3. Follow instructions on screen.

According to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=285342 "List of system
requirements for Microsoft Office XP", Office XP will work with Windows
98, ME, NT 4.0 SP6a, 2000, and XP.

Dang! I knew I'd regret it if I wrote that. I was thinking it was longer ago
that I made my #1 client upgrade his OS so I could give him the latest
version of Office (and that this was the reason my husband was still using
Office 2000). g
