Default Upload using Word 2000

I can use ftp programs to upload to my website (btinternet.com) without
problem but how do I do it using Word?

Specifically - what goes in the boxes under "Add/Modify FTP locations"

If I put in " ftp.btinternet.com" it instantly says "can't connect"

If I put in btinternet.com it at least tries but then says "can't
connect to the ftp server on the computer named btinternet.com"

TIA

John
