Default Hyperlink not working in protected doc

I've added a hyperlink to a document which works fine, but when I protect
the document (which is a referral template for use across our network) the
hyperlink (to another document containing guidelines for making a referral)
does not work. Is there a way around this that will work for all users on
all pcs. I am using word2000.

Thanks

You'd need to use a MacroButton field and a macro to execute the hyperlink.
You'll find a basic example in the Forms section of my website.
