Default Let Word stop thinking on its own.. grawl

For my job I use M. Word. It tends to let me believe I can do anything I
want, but has a mind of its own. Once a line is drawn in a certain place it
will shift whenever I touch the content. Also it does not allow me to have a
white line on the top of my footer etc. Make it as dumb as you can and I will
be happy again. Until then we purchased Adobe InDesign, which allows me to do
whatever I want...

Why not just learnt to use it? Graphics are anchored to paragraphs and
normally move when the paragraph does; but right-click and set the
properties to fix them in place if that's what you want.

No idea what you mean about the white line at the 'top of footers etc' -
there's nothing (incompetence aside) to stop you putting a white line at the
top of the footer or anywhere else.
