Default Spell check in Word 2007 not working

Is there a setting that turns on/off spell checking for misspelled words but
still shows the red squiggly line for duplicate words (it it). I looked in
Word Options, under proofing and everything seems to be on. THanks!

I don't think you can instruct Word to look for duplicate words only. But
note that you can have automatic spell check turned off and still check
spelling manually (press F7) as necessary.

Hi Stefan,
How would I turn on Automatic Spell Check?

Click the Office button, and then click Word Options. In the Proofing
category, use the "Check spelling as you type" and "Mark grammar errors as
you type" options (clearing them to turn off automatic spell check and
checking them to turn it on). And no matter if automatic spell check is on
or off, you can still spell check manually with F7 at any time.
