Default Office 2003: How do I sort mail merge using Outlook category

I'm trying to create mailing labels using Word 2003 and Outlook 2003.
"Category" is not an option by which to sort recipients. I could categorize
"friends", "relatives", etc. in the Company field, but that is not acceptable
and eliminates the company information.

If you want categories, start the merge from Outlook
