Default Words 2003 - Editing the SQL Query In A Merge Document

When I open up a Word (2003) Merge Document and see the following SQL
command: SELECT * FROM ''7DayLetter', ORDER BY 'Last Name'
Is there a way I can edit this SQL statement? I see that Step 3 of
the Mail Merge Wizard has an Advanced function in the dropdown with a
frontend that would generate the above SQL but I would still be
interested in editing the SQL directly in some situations.
Thanks,
Sheldon Potolsky

Default Words 2003 - Editing the SQL Query In A Merge Document

The SQL statement you see is automatically generated by Word and it's not
something that can be directly modified. As you noted, the Advanced
functions will modify the SQL statement but that's controlled by Word.

If you want to use your own SQL statement then you would need to create it
in a database program (or other program that support SQL) and use it as your
data source.
