Default How do I add a "fill in" space to a word document or template?

Is there a way to create an expandable space in a word document or template
in which information can be typed?

See:

I'm designing a form that needs to have "fill-in-the-blanks" lines.
What is the best way to create them?

A form field is one way (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm and especially
the forms tutorials by Dian Chapman that this article links to), but if this
is a mostly ordinary document that you don't want to have to protect for
forms, then a MacroButton NoMacro field works well; see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFm...acroButton.htm

One way of doing this is what Word calls an "online form." Check this in
help. For more about online forms, follow the links at
http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm especially Dian
Chapman's series of articles. You may also want to look at
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFl...nesInForms.htm.

Hope this helps,
