Default how do i get rid of funny looking p`s on word

I can`t correct stuff or get rid of those funny looking p`s evertime i type
please help

Sounds like you have clicked the Show/Hide button on the tool bar. Locate
the button on the toolbar that has a "funny letter P" on it and click it.
It's a toggle that turns the display of codes on/off

Those funny looking p's are called pilcrows that are paragraph marks. These
and many other are non-printing characters. To learn more about them, see:
