Hi,
Previously in Word if there is some text I want to replace I simply highlight it and type over it and the old text is replaced with new. However, what has started happening recently is that when I highlight the old text and start typing, the old text does not disappear but remains and the new text is inserted after the old. I've probably inadvertently hit a setting somewhere but can't change it back- any help appreciated! Cheers, |

Enable the "Typing replaces selection" option in Tools | Options, Edit tab.
If you are using Word 2007, you'll find the option in Office button | Word Options, Advanced category. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "kippers" wrote: Hi, Previously in Word if there is some text I want to replace I simply highlight it and type over it and the old text is replaced with new.
