I can normally just insert text into a sentence previously typed (i.e.
editing or altering a document) but I must have pressed something that has prevented me from doing this. Now when I try and insert a word the words already typed are deleted!! Can anyone help please |

You may, quite simply, have the "Insert" key depressed accidentally. This
happens all the time to most of us. You can tell if it is depressed because the OVR display "button" shows activated at the bottom of the Word screen. The solution is to hit the Insert key again (it is an "on-off" key). Insert is usually above the Delete key on your keyboard. Press the INS key once (which is what you did to start this). The INS key
acts as a toggle between insert and overwrite modes. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org linsher wrote: I can normally just insert text into a sentence previously typed (i.e. editing or altering a document) but I must have pressed something that has prevented me from doing this.
