Default Trying Different Fonts

Hello,

I want to print a short title ( 3 words) in an interesting or unusual font.
I know how to change the font of a piece of text, but it is very time
consuming using trial and error.

How can I see what my title will look like in all available fonts ?

Thanks

KK

If this is the only time you'll be doing this, there is no simple way. You
could write (not record, write) a macro that would do it for you.
You can also use the modify style dialog changing the font in it. It will
(in the dialog box) display your line in different fonts, but reduced.

You can also have your font drop down display the font names in the fonts.

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...eGenerator.htm. Note that
the text used by the macro can be customized.

Why doesn't the OP's Word show font names written in their own font?
I think even my now deceased Win98's version of Word had that
capability - and I don't do macros.

This is an option in Word 2000 and above. Many users (including me) avoid it
because it consumes resources unnecessarily, makes some font names
unreadable, and also affects the Style list. Not to mention that (a) it
doesn't show all the characters in the font for comparison purposes, and (b)
it is not as good as printout for seeing what the font actually looks like:
screen representations of some fonts are very poor.

Type your title, then highlight it, click on Format, Font and use your up &
down arrow keys. Your title should appear in the Preview box and change to
the named font as you arrow up or down. If your title is too large to view,
temporarily size it smaller.
