Default How do I erase dotted line at bottom of page?

I am worling on a manuscript. Whenever I scroll onto the next page to start a
new chapter, a thick dotted line appears at the bottom of the page of the
last chapter. I don;t want it there and have no idea how to get rid of it. I
can't click on it or anything.
