I can not use MS Word 2003. It is locked when I sue a an older documetn, or
try to create a new document. I loaded the software on a new SONY VAIO, but
the computer crashed, adn I had to repalce it. When I relaoded the software
on a second new computer, there is no means to activate it. I'm now sitting
with a $300+ software package that won't work, and Microsoift says I have to
pay to speak with someone. How do I activate the software so I can use the
WORD?

Did you actually talk to a human being who told you that it would cost you
or did you read something that makes you believe that?

What happens when you use Help | Activate Product? If you can't activate via
the Internet, there should be a phone number to call. Note that if this is
an OEM version, it is not legal to load it on another machine.
