Default protect document and fill in checkboxes

I have created a form in Word 2007 using tables. I have fill-ins as well as
check boxes. I want to protect part of the document and also be able to put
x's in the checkboxes. Is there a way I can do both?

Hi ?B?RGVicmE=?=,

Not if the checkboxes are from the Forms toolbar and are located in an
unprotected part of the document.

You could possibly use the checkboxes from the "ActiveX controls" - these
should work without document protection. But you need to know that they can
also trigger macro security. If that's not a problem for you, then they should
be OK.
