Dear all,

I am playing around with XML in Word 2003 to explore the possibilities of
this technique. I find that decimal numbers are formatted with a decimal
point. This is supposed to be a decimal komma and this is the case whenever
I do not use XML (ah, notable exception is VBA code but there it is not an
issue).

Is this by design or am I missing an option somewhere?

I think you need to take this to an XML newsgroup, as the XML you use in Word
is the same XML used generally in the world. As with so many things, the base
standard is US-English. I think there must be a way to change standard data
types to use other formats, but if I ever knew what it was I can't remember
it...

It may be that you need to add complex types to your schema that extend the
standard data types, then use those for elements that require them.
