Outline Numbering Question
I have converted WordPerfect docs into Word Docs. I am changing the Outline
number to match what we use. I convert the first to Heading 1 and want to do the following for the rest of the numbering: If Heading 1 is less than 4.0 then ^dLISTNUM 40 \l 2 = Heading 2 else ^dLISTNUM 40 \l 2 = Heading 4 |

Outline Numbering Question
Hi ?B?RnV6emhlYWQ=?=,
I have converted WordPerfect docs into Word Docs. I am changing the Outline number to match what we use. I convert the first to Heading 1 and want to do the following for the rest of the numbering: If Heading 1 is less than 4.0 then ^dLISTNUM 40 \l 2 = Heading 2 else ^dLISTNUM 40 \l 2 = Heading 4 Word doesn't support conditional formatting. Possibly, you could achieve what you need using SEQ fields. But with AutoNumbering, you'd just have to manually change from using Heading 1 to Heading 3 when you hit 4.0. The two styles can look the same, that's no problem. And Heading 3 can be set to *outline level 1*, so that it's picked up correctly in the TOC.
