Default open and repair

Hello,

I work with a master document and 8 subdocuments. At times, as expected, I
do run into problems with my master document. Most of the times I can
"repair" the corruptions in WORD 2003 by opening my master document through
"open and repair".
I was now wondering, wouldn't it be better to always open a master document
this way? You never get to see the corrupted parts in your document well
after you have started working on your document. Is there a reason for not
always opening your master document this way? You kind of (hope to) prevent
corruptions to happen.
