Is there a way to open an Appleworks attachment?

Is there a way to open an Appleworks attachment?
Have you tried using File | Open and Recover Text from Any File as well as
just doubleclicking?

If neither of those work, probably not. Ask the sender to save as RTF or as
Word and resend to you.
