Hyperlink and other problem
I'm using Office 2007. I inserted a hyperlink in a Word document, and I
thought I did what was required, but when I control-click on the link, I get a dialog box that says I can't open the folder. I know the link works because I tested it. Where am I going wrong? My other issue is that I need a quick way to insert an accent over certain words like resume or a tilde over senor. Is there an easy way to do this? Thank you in advance. |

Hyperlink and other problem
To answer the 1st question, we'd need to know what application is displaying
the dialog box and exactly what it says. Also, unless you've changed the default settings, in Word 2007, you Ctrl+Click to follow a hyperlink, not double-click. For the 2nd, you usually can press Ctrl+accent followed by the target letter to insert an accented letter. For example, to type the é´s in résumé, press Ctrl+' then press the e. If you wanted è, press Ctrl+`,e. To type ñ, press Ctrl+Shift+` (since Shift+` = ~) followed by the n key. Another option is to use what's called the "dead keys" approach, described he http://support.microsoft.com/kb/97738 -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "pubscout" wrote in message ... Hyperlink and other problem
Hi Herb,
The dialog box says "Microsoft Office Word cannot open the specified file." I am single-clicking when I control-click. Herb,
I found the problem. My text did not have http:// preceding it. It works fine now. I appreciate your assistance.
