Default Converting Word Perfect for DOS to Word - by each generation or quantumleap?

I have to convert a lot of WP docs for DOS to Word and was wondering if
it is easier to convert to an earlier generation of Word than all the
way forward to Word 2003?

Oh, how do I do this by the way? I have inherited an organization that
is operating in the dark ages and I am upgrading everyone to Office Pro
2003 but there is this one group that is still using WP for DOS and I
barely remember DOS and its commands.

If WP-DOS can save as RTF, that would be a great leap forward and could be
opened by any version of Word.

Check
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Textconv
for WPFT632.CNV and WPFT532.CNV.

If present, try simply opening in Word.

These old converters have been removed or modified because of a small
perceived security risk. They can still be used if available and you can
find them linked from my web site http://www.gmayor.com/downloads.htm with
instructions on how to deploy them.

Additional information: What Graham said .... and

The converter package can be downloaded from the microsoft.com office
download page. However, the Word Perfect converters in that package are
one way. They only support conversion from WP to Word format. The older
versions (mentioned by Graham) support two-way conversion.
