Tab leaders in table of contents-2007
I have been trying to modify the tab leader for the table of contents in 2007
and I can't get it to change for all the headers. I foollow these steps: 1) Choose Reference from the ribbon 2) Go to Table of Contents, then insert table of contents 3) I get the Table of Contents dialog box 4) I click on the drop down arrow next to Tab Leader and select ______ 5) The Print Preview and Web Previews change to what I want, which is Heading 1 ___________________ 1 Heading 2 __________________ 2 Heading 3 _________________ 3 6) I say ok and it inserts a table of contents that looks like this: Heading 1_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 1 Heading 2 __________________ 2 Heading 3 _________________ 3 I can not find the option to modify heading 1 to be straight rather than dashed, please help!!!!! |

Tab leaders in table of contents-2007
Have you tried modifying the TOC 1 style directly?

I guess that is my question, How do you set the tab leader in each header, I
can't find the option to modify the tab header any where except on the main dialog box which is supposed to change it for the whole table of contents. "Suzanne S. I don't know how you get to the Format Style dialog in Word 2007 (looks like
Home | Styles | Styles), but however you arrive there, you can select the TOC 1 style, choose Modify, then Format | Tabs and select the appropriate leader. Alternatively, select a TOC 1 entry and go to Format | Tabs (or Word 2007 equivalent). -- Suzanne S.
